We develop church planters.
We train up men who are ignited by their
radical love for their Lord, who lead by example, who preach with
passion and conviction, and who motivate others to spend themselves for
the glory of Jesus Christ and the expansion of His kingdom.
We believe the best lessons in leadership are not
gained from a book.
There is a gap to be bridged between the academic study
provided in seminary and practical, hands-on training that can occur in
the context of the local church. The
Harvest Training Center for Church Planting (HTC) bridges that gap and seeks to finish the work of
building a pastor.
Our focus is on individual character and
developing preaching and leadership gifts. Men selected as Training Center residents work through a rigorous
residency program at the Elgin campus. A fall term and spring term are available to qualified church planters and senior pastors.
Our program builds upon lessons learned in seminary, honing those
skills and tools that are best learned and most utilized in the context of
local church ministry.
